From Henry VIII and his many wives, to Princess Diana and her love troubles, the lives of the royal families of Britain have long fascinated the masses. With every generation of royal there seems to be of new set of fans that collect plates with the Queens face, or cups with Prince Charles ears as handles – or these days, buy whatever they happen to be wearing.
Now the followers are wider spread, internationally located, even though British Empire no longer rules them – the fascination is on going. Again, the Royals are trending, with people becoming fans of the next generation of Royals, but why?
A Royal Romance
With the rise of social media and access to intimate personal information, the public knows even more about the Royals than ever before.
The latest round of Royals seems to be even more relatable then Princess Diana, and her public need for love. From Prince William and his openness about mental health issues and his sorrow at his mothers passing, to Prince Harry, his many charities and his choice of bride – these royals seem touchable and human in a way that has not been shown before.
And in our opinion, the fresh blood, the wives have added the extra appeal to the mix. Though Princess Diana opened the royals to in-depth emotional scrutiny, Kate and Meghan who are both non-titled commoners have made the ‘The Firm” seem a bit more human.
But its not just the humanity of them, not just the loves and exes and marriages, or charities and tours of the continents. To be shallow – it’s the fashion, these two stylish women give the masses something to admire and emulate.
Kate has evolved from a girlfriend to a mother of a future king, with grace and style – a role model for sure. While Meghan has not only grace and style but also a history, that makes her seem simply human and relatable – she is one of us, non-royal and rocking it.

A Royal Future
The future for the monarchy, although they are just a figurehead and have no real power, seems to be set in stone. It seems like the population of Britain relies on the institution of the Royal family in order to be British, and with all the turmoil of Brexit the family gives them some sense of pride and tradition that won’t be taken away. This need shows in the fascination with the youngest generation of royals, with little Prince George a constant focus of attention. From his first day at school, to what brand of shorts he is wearing, the people must know and follow.
And Prince Harry and his lovely wife, now pregnant – once again the world is fascinated, a boy? A girl? When is the child due? What name will it have?
The Royals have no need to worry – the future is certain for them and their children.
