Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

What are fans doing while they wait for the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? To keep up with the latest news, more than three hundred of them are following the official Twitter page for the upcoming movie, and over two hundred have shared the Toy Story meets Batman v. Superman trailer mash-up that almost flooded the internet. Some fans, using the mic, have started a Batman v Superman hip hop battle. To assume Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is not one of the most anticipated movies of 2016 would be a terrible judgement.

Director Zack Snyder  who has been tight lipped about the superhero movie for the better part of the year finally let a few things slip.

In an interview with E News the American born Snyder, who is responsible for movies such as 300 and Watchmen, addressed some of the hype surrounding the Batman v Superman movie – which is set to be released in March 2016. Treading carefully to ensure he avoids possible spoilers, Snyder employed a light approach instead and teased that “it’s going to be interesting.”

If the cast (and the official movie trailer) is anything to go by, interesting may have been an understatement coming from the award winning director.

The cast includes Ben Affleck as Gotham city’s hero Batman, and playing the man of steel, Superman, is Henry Cavill.  Actress Diane Lane, Holly Hunter, Amy Adams, Tao Okamoto, and Gal Gadot make the female cast. Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Momoa, and Dan Amboyer are among the male cast.

In his article writing for Forbes, contributor Benjamin Moore takes a jab at Snyder accusing him of  “not getting Superman”.  This comes after the director’s admission that there will be more Batman than Superman in the film, in an interview with The Daily Beast. Snyder had, in the same interview, explained the reason behind this. The director stated that it is only because it’s a different Batman than the Batman that was in Chris Nolan’s movies, therefore they had a little bit more explaining to do regarding the character. But Moore does not stand alone with concern, there are fans who had more to complain about than to celebrate, like Ben Affleck’s Batman voice for one, and if there is a real need for the superheroes to even fight.
